Forces of Nature & Coastline Adventure
Mui Ne is shaped by wind, water, and shifting sand. Its dunes, stream banks, beaches, and fishing communities offer students a hands-on setting to explore how natural forces continually reshape the coastline.
This program combines field investigation, outdoor challenge, and community learning. Students examine erosion and coastal protection, explore the relationship between land and sea, and consider how local action can help protect coastal environments.
Day 1
Morning: Depart to Mui Ne by private coach (3-4hours).
En-route introduction: What natural forces shape Mui Ne?
Afternoon: Arrive at Ong Dia Rock Beach for a hands-on citizen science coastal investigation.
Students work in small groups to look for microplastics in the sand, test the pH of water from different sources, and examine samples of sand and seawater for microorganisms.
The session finishes with a sandcastle-building competition, where teams test how water, sand and design can make a structure stronger against the elements.
Evening: Welcome dinner and program briefing.
After dinner, students join a relaxed quiz night, with questions based on Mui Ne, the coast and the activities from the day.
Sample Itinerary
Day 2
Morning: Starting the day at the White Sand Dunes, students will take part in two engaging, hands-on activities. Working in small teams, they will create miniature river systems using sand and water in designated activity trays, discovering how flowing water shapes the landscape. They will also feel the power of the desert wind with the workshop Giant, colourful kites above the dunes an energetic experience that encourages teamwork, coordination, and fun.
Visit the Fairy Stream, where students can see how water has slowly cut through the sand and exposed the different layers beneath.
Afternoon: Lunch is served at the activity venue.
Afterwards, students try sand painting, using the colours of Mui Ne's dunes as inspiration.
Later, it is time for a supervised sand-sledding challenge on the dunes.
Evening: Enjoy a group dinner and some time to share the day's highlights.
The evening ends with a movie night a chance to relax after a full day outdoors.
Day 3
Morning: Visit the fishing village and take part in a hands -on greening activity, planting trees to stabilize sand, lessen wind erosion. Then explore the cultural beliefs of whale worship.
Evening: After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh city
